Look Here, Avid Readers! Find Best-Selling Books with These Practical Applications

Long bus rides and waiting in line always makes you bored? Not anymore. Thanks to technology, developments in the e-Book industry kept on rolling in. Companies have developed various devices so you can read your favorite eBooks no matter where you are.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, these companies have made applications that you can install in any of your devices, whether it’s your smartphone or tablet. So, if you’re an avid reader without an eReader device, why don’t you check out these top applications instead?

1. Nook Books by Barnes and Noble
At first, Barnes and Noble offered a convenient way to read eBooks through different Nook devices like Nook Glowlight and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook 10.1.

But now, they are offering a much better deal by making Nook an application. With the updated 3.5 version, you can choose over a million of books, magazines and other reading materials and buy it through the app. You can also automatically sync your last page as well as notes with other devices. Plus, you can get notifications about great deals and recommendations when it comes to books.

So, if you own an Android device with an Android OS 2.2 or higher and you like to buy from B&N, why don’t you download the application now?

2. iBooks by Apple
With the rise of Apple devices in the market, the company has also released an e-book application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. With this application, you can just order books from the iBooks Store automatically and read it in your device.
It can also render texts written in 18 different languages. And you can change the font style and size according to your preferences. If you’re having difficulty with some words, you can even find a brief definition when you click it or opt to search it on the web.
If the application is not preloaded onto your iOS device, you can download and install it free of charge from the iTunes App Store. But you need to have an iOS 4.3, OS X 10.9 or more advanced operating systems before you can use iBooks.

3. Kindle by Amazon
E-book readers were glad when Amazon.com developed an e-book reader device that enables the user to buy and download books via wireless networking. But in 2009, patrons were happier when the e-commerce site released a Kindle for PC application, which can be downloaded for free for Microsoft Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP. This allowed the readers to buy and read e-books even without the Kindle device.
Amazon.com later developed a version for Apple Macintosh in 2010 and then eventually, they released a Kindle for Android in 2010. Therefore, if you’re a reader who likes to purchase e-books from LitFire Publishing or from other publishing houses on Amazon.com, then install the Kindle app to your Android device, if you haven’t done it already.

4. Kobo by Kobo Inc.
Produced by a Toronto-based company, Kobo e-Reader was released in May 2010. The brand played the minimalist counterpart of expensive e-book readers available at that time. But unlike traditional books, the company has a unique pagination system that counts the pages separately within each chapter rather than throughout the whole book. Meaning, each chapter restarts at page 1 and counts consecutively but only up to the end of the chapter.
However, Kobo Inc. eventually developed an application for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices. With it, you can browse from the collection available in Kobo’s bookstore and buy whatever catches your interest. But if you’re an iOS user, Kobo app does not support in-app eBook purchases or Sign-Up, so you have to purchase a book from another device.
As of the moment, these are the hottest applications when it comes to buying and reading e-Books through various gadgets. Who knows, other applications might be developed in the future. But while waiting for others, just install one of the apps that match your operating system and device.
Are you ready to buy and read your books even when you always on-the-go?
